Stood in the long line. Talked with lots of friends, and met some new faces too. Threw the slobbery tennis ball for Buster a half dozen times. Finally made it through the door and sampled the IPA and the Red. Then I thought to myself, “Better take home a growler of each to reward myself for making it to the front of this line.” If we don’t reward ourselves, who will? And what a reward it is! So glad to have you in the neighborhood. Thanks – John
We were driving through on an east coast tour from Ontario when we stumbled across this gem. It was closed with a sign that said “Sold out of beer!” We figured that was a good sign and made a plan to stop in on our way back. It didn’t disappoint. I had the Red Ale and it was a well balanced malty ale that could stand proudly aside any pint I’ve ever downed; and that’s no small amount of pints, boys.
Congratulations! I’m a huge craft beer fan and brew my own beer. Can’t wait to try your beer. So tired of paying $25 to the socialistic NSLC for a 12 pk of Keith’s
I just purchased 2 six packs of Red Ale at Bishops Landing in Halifax.
I asked if they were continuing to order it in, as it’s the finest red ale I’ve ever tasted. They said most likely…as they’ve been hearing great things about the product.
Was given a bottle of Red, IPA and smoked porter as a retirement gift, tried the Red and IPA over Xmas. The IPA held its head for a good 30 minuites, unheard of from liquor store brews and haven’t seen it since days in Germany. Congratulations, not sure of shelf life but if good for 30 days after bottling would consider switching.
Recently started working my way through craft beers because the “real” beers all taste the same. Tried the IPA first and was blown away by the superior taste and the citrus aftertaste. Well done! I can’t wait to try the red and the porter, keep up the good work.
Had your Red for the first time on tap at the Wooden Monkey in Dartmouth. Fantastic!! Best I’ve had. I’ll be trying the others soon. Hope they stay available around here, off to Bishops!
Just had your beer at the Lion and Bright in Halifax. I had the Red Ale and it was my favourite craft beer by far. Will have to take some home with me to Ontario.
As I type this I have just sipped my first taste of the IPA.
Where do I get a t-shirt?
A good friend arranged for delivery of a couple of Uncle Leo’s Cream Stout . Awesome Stout -good friend might now be my best friend. Looking forward to a trip home to Pictou County to check out the rest of the lineup.
Just finishing a red ale awesome.first time given as a christmas gift.Congrats on the award keep up the good work! Like Brian wrote where can I get a t-shirt
Was at Stillwell last night with a friend and while already being impressed by your red ale, I chose #2. #2 being the order of what kegs/casks are currently in order. Uncle Leo’s Winterschlaf is the best beer I’ve had in awhile. Completely pleasing to the palate. Excellent notes. A home run. Will have again.
Skip the Budweiser, Coors light, Keith’s and other high volume low quality credo on the market. Come to Uncle Leo’s talk to the knowledgeable staff, take a peak at the collection of growlers from around the province. Enjoy a sample, than purchase summer of the finest ales to touch your lips.
Tried your red for the first time today when the Rockhead wine & beer store was out of Tatamagouche products. I am impressed. It must be the water up that way to two small microbrewerys to have such great products.
My wife and I visited your store the Victoria Day weekend. I bought a 6 pack of red. It is one of the best reds I have ever tasted. We had supper at Pictou Lodge. I tried your IPA. If I had to choose only one beer to drink for the rest of my life, it would be your IPA. Great ale! We also bought a couple bottles of your Vohs Weizenbier for our daughter who recently came back from 3 1/2 years in Europe. She likened it to what she could buy over there. She thought it was wonderful.
Smoked Porter……simply the best brew!
You wouldn’t believe my disappointment when I stopped over the LC last night to find the IPA was sold out. I wasn’t sure what to do next; I didn’t have a back-up plan. Since drinking the Uncle Leo’s you’ve completely restricted my selection, I can no longer go back to the tasteless manufactured beers anymore. Please help, send more to the Nish!!
Uncle Leo’s Porter is the best. If you like Porter style beer like Guinness you will love Uncle Leo’s Porter. Actually it is way better than Guinness .
Just tried Uncle Leo’s Smoked Porter and I can’t wait to try the others. Glad to hear of a Newfoundlander making great beer, sure could use a few more like you back on the Rock!
